Essential oils and job coaching with Brenda Akoma

A couple of years back Brenda was feeling stuck, her dream job as a manager in Child Protective Services stopped to exist. Having to go through all the emotion of confusion, sadness and denial, she became completely out of balance. Having to find her way back with the help of a professional job coach and using essential oils, she used all these new experiences to help others who are in the same or similar situations. Whether you feel stuck at your job, or are in desperate need of a new professional challenge - a job coach could be the right solution to help you guide you through this journey. But did you know that a job coach can use aromatherapy as a tool you help you find the right path?

How to use essential oils when you are a job coach?

This is what Brenda does on a daily basis. When a new client comes to her, she supports them to (re)discover his or her talents, passions and qualities. But she also helps with finding and maintaining balance. Finding your (work)passion can be an emotional journey where you have to dig deep into your emotions and motivation. Not being able to find the right job or career choice can occur because of a blockage in your system, emotionally or physically. With the help of a different range of treatment like AromaTouch with Essential Oils, the oils can support the healing powers from within your own body and have a positive effect.

When you are a job coach you are your own instrument. When guiding other it is important to not let the emotions of the person you are coaching overtake you. In addition to all the tools you learn as a job coach, essential oils can give you an extra tool. Not just for the person you are coaching but also for yourself.

One of the tools Brenda uses as a job coach is the Element Square. The elements square is a tool on how to get to the base of someone’s motivation, struggles and personality. The element square has four elements. Fire, Air, Water and Earth.

Fire stands for warmth, passion, inspiration. It starts with fire, your first idea.

Air is how am I giving air to my idea. What do I need to get there?

Water is the element of relations, working together. With my idea, how do I get the right people involved in my idea.

Earth, stands for grounding. How am I going to execute my idea?

With the results of the elements square, you can get inside into what a person needs from a job coach and with also with using essential oils. Does the person need motivation, then we use Motivate for its blend of Peppermint, Basil and Rosemary oil. Does this person feel overwhelmed, then Balance could be a great oil.

Essential oils can give a person the confidence, motivation, energy or the grounding feeling they need to take the next step in their career path and in life. The oils can be a daily ritual at the workplace or a tool to be used as needed or proactively. Every client that has worked with Brenda and chose to include aromatherapy as a part of their journey with her, have had a great experience using the oils and most of them continue to use them.

We think this is a really special and unique way to use essential oils and inspires to explore even more ways to use oils on the work floor.
